First Climb To Singu Chuli
The first record of the Singu Chuli expedition came in 1957 when Wilfrid Noyce and David Cox made an attempt to the top. Both of them made the climb to the top from the East ridge and through the Northeast face.
This first climb to the top opened doors for others to climb Singu Chuli. It was the pairing of Noyce and Cox who named the mountain as Fluted Mountain, and the name remains.
After completing the climb, both of them stated that it was a difficult and technical climb at the same time. The name fluted peak was provided for the fluted features of the mountain.

Detailed Itinerary for Singu Chuli Expedition
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel
On the very first day of the whole tour, you will be landing at the international airport. A member from The Trek Nepal will be present to take you to your respective hotel.
As you come through the hotel, you have an option of resting or also spending the evening in the streets of Kathmandu.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
Singu Chuli expedition today will be all about witnessing the beauty of the valley. Early in the morning, we will be out for the city tour. Trekkers will be part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, enjoying the beauty of it.
On the other side, the members of The Trek Nepal will be busy getting all the permits ready. We will connect with the respective authority to get the permits.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
Technically Singu Chuli expedition begins today. We will be taking the drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara early in the morning. It will be a 7-hour drive with the most scenic views all along.
Crossing the variety of landscapes and natural beauty, we will reach Pokhara by midday. Interested guests can get the city tour, while others can rest at their respective hotels.
Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga
Early in the morning, we will have breakfast and drive to Nayapul. It will be an easy drive of 4 hours as we reach the destination for the trek. Tikhedhunga lies below Ulleri, where we will jump to reach by evening.
After completing the drive, we will trek for 4 hours to reach Tikhedhunga. We will stay the night in the finest lodges of Tikhedhunga, and the beauty of Machhapuchhre will be around us.
Day 5: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Early morning breakfast at Tikhedhunga means that we will head towards Ghorepani today. It will be an interesting journey as the Gurung village will be ready to welcome us.
Trekkers will touch down on places like Ulleri, Banthanti, Nayathanti, etc. There will be several mountain views like Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli etc. Ghorepani will have some of the friendly and welcoming vibes to talk about.
Day 6: Early morning hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani
First of all, we will be trekking to Poonhill today. It will be for the early sunrise view, which is outstanding to say the least. The vibrant glow on Machhapuchhre will be something to enjoy and embrace. We return to Ghorepani for lunch and start the journey back.
It will be to Tadapani for the day. Crossing down the lush green forest to the rhododendron trees, we will head for Tadapani. It will take us around 5 hours to complete the trek and reach the local teahouse.
Day 7: Trek from Tadapani to Chomrong
The early sunrise will suggest we will head for Chomrong. Chomrong lies below Tadapani, so the trek will be filled with steep ascents and descents. There will be places like Siprong and Gurjung along the way.
Lastly, we will reach the Chhomrong village, which is massively beautiful. It is a Gurung settlement with the most beautiful welcome that you can experience. It will be an experience.
Day 8: Trek from Chhomrong to Bamboo
Bamboo is a beautiful village with the name for its massive collection of bamboo. The journey in the morning starts for the Singu Chuli expedition. Along the trekking routes, you will see the beauty of Mount Machhapuchhre.
It will be an easier trek day with prayer flags, stupas, and chortens all around. We will take a short break at Sinuwa before reaching the destination of Bamboo.
Day 9: Trek from Bamboo to Deurali
You will get to view wildlife today in the Singu Chuli expedition. As we move ahead towards Deurali, there will be the presence of Himalayan Tahar, snow leopards, and different breeds of monkeys. You will also catch a variety of birds in their flight.
The route is filled with ABC mountain views and can be challenging at times. During midday, you will reach Dovan only to push for Deurali by the end of the day.
Day 10: Trek from Deurali to Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp
A key day for the Singu Chuli expedition comes today. It is reachable from Machapuchhre Base Camp along with Annapurna Base Camp. Things will get challenging today as we move ahead. First of all, you will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp.
Later, we will push down more to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. There will be mountains all along the way with the likes of Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Annapurna South, etc.
Day 11: Acclimatization day at Annapurna Base Camp
Singu Chuli expedition with The Trek Nepal hits 4000m, and we acclimate today. After 10 days of trek, we will rest around ABC, trying to enjoy the view. There will be some majestic views that accompany you.
It will be the Annapurna mountain range to go with Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, etc. The guides from The Trek Nepal will guide you about the place. You will allow your body to cope with the new surroundings.
Day 12: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Tent Peak Base Camp
The proper acclimatization at ABC means that the journey moves to Tent Peak Base Camp today. It will be a day spent at the lap of the Himalayas. Slowly, there will be a sense of Singu Chuli around the corner.
The physical fitness will be tested for the day as we walk the tough terrains. There will be no teahouses as we set up everything ourselves. The guides from The Trek Nepal will install all the requirements and set up for the night.
Day 13: Trek from Tent Peak Base Camp to Tent Peak High Camp
It will be a slow move today, but we will touch down at 5000m. Snowy trails, along with the steep ascent, mean that we are on the right track. Tent Peak is the mountain that is closer to Singu Chuli.
It will be a short ascent today, but the journey will take us 6 hours. The mesmerising beauty of the mountains and a well-set-up camp mean we spend the night at high camp.
Day 14: Acclimatization day at High Camp
It is critical to adapt to 5000m, and today is the day. With the altitude change body would require some time to connect with nature. With the acclimatization, it will be easy for the day.
We will plan the climb to Singu Chuli and also get excellent views. There will be training on how to use the gear, and the day will be productive overall.
Day 15: Trek from Tent Peak High Camp to Singu Chuli Camp I
The early morning breakfast means that we will target the Singu Chuli Camp I today. It will be a short trek, but adapting to the higher altitude is key. There will be plenty of other climbers, too.
Today needs to be full of attention and key focus. From using crampons to other gears, today might be the day. After trekking for 6 hours, we will reach Singu Chuli Camp I.
Day 16: Trek from Singu Chuli Camp I to Camp II
The dream of the Singu Chuli expedition is slowly coming to life. It will be a day about trekking from camp I to II with the help of experts. It will be only 300m, but it will be worth every second.
Camp II also has the most beautiful mountain view. You will maintain a slow pace so whereby we reach Singu Chuli Camp II. It is here we spend the night.
Day 17:Summit Singu Chuli Peak and back to Camp II
Finally, the day has arrived when the Singu Chuli expedition is a reality. Thrill, excitement, and previous experience of climbing a mountain will come in handy. There will be 1000m of ascent to reach the top of Singu Chuli.
It is an outstanding feeling the use tools and reach the top. All the climbers will spend some time at the top before reaching Camp II.
Day 18: Back to Camp I from Camp II
After the early morning breakfast, we will move ahead to Camp I. As easy as it may sound, the retrace back to Camp I could be tiring and demanding with the snow and ice around.
Steady pace, along with the move to the first camp, will be tougher. It will require 7 hours to complete the 700m trek, which is interesting to say the least.
Day 19-20: Trace to Machhapuchhre Base Camp from Tent Peak Base Camp
Slowly, the Singu Chuli expedition seems to be coming towards the end. It will be an early morning push, whereby we will be covering the Annapurna Base Camp and later the Machhapuchhre Base Camp.
First of all, we will be crossing down to Annapurna Base Camp and moving ahead. It will be a 300m trek, but it will demand your physical strength. By the end of the day, we will be at Machhapuchhre Base Camp.
Day 21: Trek from Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Sinuwa
As we spent last night in Machhapuchhre Base Camp, the journey moves ahead to Sinuwa today. There will be a drastic drop in altitude at the Singu Chuli expedition. Deurali, Himalaya, Dhoban, and Bamboo are the different stops.
We will bid farewell to the picturesque views of Machhapuchhre now. Moving along, we will reach Sinuwa after 7 hours of trek.
Day 22: Trek from Sinuwa to Jhinu Danda
Chhomrong village will be the one that we will be leaving out today. It will be an interesting day with an early morning breakfast and continuous uphill moves to say the least.
After reaching the banks of Modi Khola, it will be 5 more hours of trek. From the ascents and descents of a long day, we will be at Jhinu Danda by the end of the day.
Day 23: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Pothana
The experience is slowly coming to a close. Moving along the way, we will head to Pothana today. First of all, we cross the villages like Landruk, Himal pani, etc.
Moving ahead, we will see some beautiful views along the way. This will be an official leave from the Singu Chuli expedition. It will be a different starting point at Pothana today.
Day 24: Trek to Dhampus Phedi from Pothana and drive to Pokhara
The early morning breakfast at Pothana means that we will be moving ahead now. It will be a tough day as we will first reach Dhampus Phedi through trek. Moving along, there will be a drive you can catch.
It will be to reach Pokhara today. As exciting and entertaining as it might seem, slowly we are coming to the end of the Singu Chuli expedition. Reaching Pokhara, you can settle down or explore the lakeside.
Day 25: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
Yes, it is coming to a close quicker than expected. After 24 beautiful days, we will be returning to Kathmandu. Early breakfast in Pokhara means that we will head out to Kathmandu.
Crossing the uneven roads to the beautiful views, we will reach Kathmandu by early evening. Everybody will be placed in their respective rooms, and the journey comes to a close.
Day 26: Departure to the home nation
Finally, the sadness will hit as we head home. It will be an interesting experience that we have in 25 days. A member from The Trek Nepal will drop you off at the airport terminals.
