Arun Valley Trekking

Arun valley is the deepest valley of the world and it is very famous for bird’s habitats. We can find 650 species of birds and 800 species of butterflies in this valley. This valley lies between the Sagarmatha National Park (where Mt. Everest stands) and Makalu Barun National Park. This is a very beautiful yoga trekking destination, where we can enjoy the scene of many mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Amadablam etc.

This valley is very rich in Bio-diversity. There are a lot of species of trees and the most unavoidable part of this place is that this place is the shelter of rare and endangered animals Red Panda and snow leopard. There are a lot of wildflowers and many medicinal plants.

Grasslands and jungles are followed in our yoga trekking route. There is a deep gorge in Arun Valley where we decent during our yoga trekking. We can see white snow-covered mountains on the way.

We can enjoy the peace and calmness during this Arun Valley Yoga Trekking. For this yoga trekking, we need to have strong stamina for grasping full benefits of this yoga trekking because we have to reach more than 4110m high altitude during our yoga trekking. Really, this is a non-touristic area so it is generally a very calm place comparing to other yoga trekking area.

Arun Valley yoga trekking is also remarkable in the cultural aspect. In this reason, we find the inhabitant of Sherpa, Rai and Limbu etc. ethnic communities. We can see their different traditional and ritual functions. They have many festivals and dances according to their ethnicity.

For Arun Valley yoga trekking, we will start our flight from Kathmandu to Tumlintar Airport which lies east from the Mt. Everest. Tumlingtar is the beginning point of our real trekking.

Arun Valley Yoga Trek – Itinerary


Day 01: Kathmandu (1338m)


This is the first day of our Arun Valley Yoga Trekking. When you arrive in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will come in our office in Goldhunga. We will check in hotel and stay there. Our overnight will be at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Day of Kathmandu Visit of Arun Valley Yoga Trek


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day, we will utilize our time by seeing the beautiful scenery of Kathmandu valley and visiting other important places including world heritage sites. Our overnight will be at the hotel in Kathmandu.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 03: 45 Min Flight From Kathmandu To Tumlingtar(650m) and Trek To Kartikeghat (840m)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day of Arun Valley Yoga Trekking, we will fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar airport at the height 650m, where we can reach about within1 hour from Kathmandu. From Tumlingtar our trekking will start and we will trek to Kartikeghat. Our trekking will be continued along with Arun River. This is a very amazing riverside view trekking. We will stay in the bank of the Arun River by camping there at night.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 04: Trek from Kartikeghat to Gothe Bazaar (800m 6 hours)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day, we will walk 5 hours all together following the Arun River. Our trekking will head to Gothe Bazar from Kartikeghat. We will head towards north leaving Arun River, through the sub tropical forest.

We cross the village where Brahman, Chettri and Rai, are staying and we will reach Gothe Bazzar and stay there for the night. This small farm village is very popular for Rudrakchhya, plant for Hindu’s holy garland. Our overnight will be in Gothe Bazaar.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 05: Trek from Gothe Bazaar (800m) to Salpa Phedi (2,415m, 6 hours)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

The 5th day of Arun Valley Yoga Trekking heads towards Salpa Phedi from Gothe Bazaar. On our way, we can see paddy fields, Citrus fruits, Banana, groves etc. There are mostly Rai and Sherpa people. They make special Nepali paper by local plants Lokta. The trail goes by the beautiful forest and at last, we reach to Salpa Phedi. The day will be interesting there with sound sleeping.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 06: Trek from Salpa Phedi (2,415m) to Guranse (3,075m. 5 to 6 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

Our trekking continues from Salpa Phedi to Guranse on this day. We walk through bamboo and rhododendron forest, from the steamy Arun valley. Walking through the beautiful forest we reach to Salpa Bhanjyang Pass. We will pass many shephard’s shades on our way. We will reach in the mid-forest of rhododendron. Our overnight will be in Guranse.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 07: Trek from Guranse (3,075m) to Guidel (1,640m 5 – 6 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

We leave Guranse and head to Guidel. This route is amazing to feel the beauty of the real natural scenes. On the way, we will pass the jungle where Himalayan bear, Red Panda etc. stay. Guidel is a Rai village.We will spend our overnight in Guidel.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 08: Trek from Guidel (1,640m) to Khiraule (2,360m. 3 to 4 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

We start to walk to Khiraule from Guidel. This day’s walk will be shorter comparatively than previous day’s walk. Passing through Hinku River by crossing the suspension bridge, we will reach to Bung village.

This is one of the most fertile regions of Nepal, where mostly Rai people stay. In this village people grow paddy and other many crops. We find some Sherpa villages at higher places. We will be in Khiraule after walking one hour from Bung and we will spend our night here.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 09: Trek from Khiraule (2,360m) to Gai Kharka (2,450m. 6 hours)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

When we get up in Khiraule we will be ready for Gai Kharka. We will climb high uphill passing the villages. We will feel so cool on the way. There is the forest of rhododendron, pines, oaks and hemlock. Ghai-Kharka is a small farm house area where we find four or five small tea houses where people are living there to serve travelers. Our overnight will be in Gai Kharka on 9th day of Arun Valley Yoga Trekking.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 10: Trek from Gai Kharka (2,450m) to Pangbung (2,670m. 6 hours)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

After taking our breakfast in Gai Kharka, our trekking will be continued to Hinku Khola which lies towards Dudh Kosi, a famous river. We will cross the bridge and reach to steep path. Our trekking follows towards Kharte, a small village where Sherpa tribe lives. After sometimes, we will be to the large village of Pangbung, where our overnight will be wonderful.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 11: Trek from Pangbung (2,670m) to Puiyan (2,800m. 5 – 6 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

From Pangbung we will start for Puiyan. Our trekking continues towards our destination with the cool way. This is the Khumbu area. There is the forest of oak, rhododendron and many more. Nepalese paper plant grows there. We can enjoy the chirping sound of birds. Our day’s walk ends when we arrive in the Puiyan village which is the village situated middle of the forest. Our overnight will be in Puiyan.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 12: Trek from Puiyan (2,800m) to Phakding (2,650m. 5 – 6 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

We will start to Phakding After staying in Puiyan for a night. We walk in the windy way some hours and we reach to Sebuk Danda and when we continue our trekking we will be at Chotok La 2,945m.

Our trekking leads upwards from this place and we reach to the high place from where we can see Lukla town and the Surkhe village, down below. We will take our lunch on the way and we will reach to Surkhe village. From the village we can reach to Lukla in 2 hours steep way.

We will go to Tarke khola from where we can see the beautiful scene of Kusum-Kangru 6,369m. We will enjoy our trip with a lot of scenery on the way. Finally, we will be at Phakding village and we will spend our overnight on the bank of the Dudh Kosi River. Our overnight will be in Phakding.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 13: Trek from Phakding (2,650m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m. Approx. 5 to 6 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

Our Arun Valley trekking is continued. From Phakding we head to Namche Bazaar. We will cross the suspension bridge over Dudh-Kosi. After that, the way has small ups and downs. We reach a small village Monjo.

From there if we walk for only 20 minutes up there will be the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. If we walk downwards from there Jorsalle village will be welcome us with a great heart. When we cross a bridge we will head to Namche Bazaar along the way.

On the way, we can see the beautiful view of Kwangde peak, Kusum kangru Mt.Everest, Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the Taweche peak closely. At last, we will reach to the Sherpa’s capital at Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is a very famous place for the people who come here to climb Mount Everest. There are a lot of houses and lodges. Our overnight will be in Namche Bazaar.

Day 14: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

This day will be our rest day in Namche Bazaar. This place is necessary to explore our eyes. We have to observe deeply for taking its real beauty and real scent. We will visit Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter which is not far from this place. It is a little bit upwards.

From the top of Namche Bazaar, we can see the beautiful snow-capped peaks with magnificent scenery. We will also visit the museum there with all types of information of Himalayas, geography, culture, mountaineering history and existing information on flora and fauna of this region. The afternoon will be free time for leisure. Our overnight will be in Namche Bazaar.

Day 15: Arun Valley Yoga Trekking from Namche Bazaar (3,440m) to Thyangboche (3,867m. approx 5 hours)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

After enjoying our trekking in Namche Bazaar we will start to Thyangboche. We will see the magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam etc. We will start to go down and after sometimes we will reach to a village, Phungitenga, at the height of 3,250meter, which is a small settlement in the middle of alpine forest of blue pines, rhododendron with and birch trees.


When we continue our trekking to the up we will reach to the Thyangboche Gumba (Monastery). This monastery lies in the middle of the jungle. This is an amazing place from where we can enjoy the view of the majestic scene of Mt. Amadablam with Mt. Everest above.

Nuptse and Mt. Lhotse are also the attracting scenery which can be seen from this point. We will visit monastery and observe the prayer of the monk which creates perfect harmony and peaceful mind. Our overnight will be in Thyangboche.

Day 16: Trek from Thyangboche (3,867m) to Dingboche (4,358m. approx: 5 – 6 hour)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

When we leave Thyangboche we will go down along the forest of many alpine trees. We can enjoy the beauty of the scenery of many mountains like Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. Our walk will be easy to a small bridge over the narrow gorge of Imja-Tse River.

The walk will be uphill most of the way. We will be in Pangboche village at 3,900m. From Pangboche we will stop in Shomare for lunch. This is a temporary settlement and from here we can see the close view of Amadablam. Our trekking will be continued to Dingboche which is our last destination for the day. Our overnight will be in Dingboche.

Day 17: Rest Day at Dingboche


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

This day will be the rest day of our Arun Vally trekking. We can enjoy the beauty of nature on this day. We can see the superb view of the snow-capped peaks and glaciers of Lhotse, Amadablam and Imja glacier. We can see Chhukhung village which is the last temporary settlement of this area. Our overnight will be in Dingboche.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 18: Trek from Dingboche (4,358m) to Lobuche (4,928m. about 5 hours)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

After our rest in Dingboche we will head to Lobuche. We will go up. If we see below from there we can observe Pheriche village. From this route we can see the views of Mt. Tawache, Amadablam and Pokalde 5,741m, Kongmatse 5,820m and the great wall of Nuptse.

We can also cover from our eyes, the world’s 5th highest peak. When we walk continuously we will reach Thugla. After walking one hour on the steep up we will be Thugla pass. From this place we can see the view of Mt. Pumori and other peaks west of Everest. We will reach in Lobuche after walking some hours which is situated in the hidden corner. Our overnight will be in Lobuche.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 19: Trek to Gorakshep 5,160m. & continue to Everest base Camp 5,357m.)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day we will be at Everest Base Camp at the height of 5,357 m. This is the last achievement of our trekking. We can see Khumbu glacier which is the biggest glacier of Nepal. We can enjoy our walk with the view of glacial pond and icebergs down below of Khumbu glacier.

When we reach to Gorakshep we will continue our trekking towards Everest base Camp 5,357m. It is an adventurous journey in our life. We go up for only trekking not to stay. The ice falls there. This is the point of high altitude and thin air. After enjoying at Everest base Camp we will be back to Gorakshep for overnight stay.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 20: Trek from Gorakshep 5,160m to Kalapathar 5,545m and continue to Pheriche 4,243m. 5 hrs


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

We will start to Kallapatthar early in the morning because in the morning we can see the sunrise from here. Kalaptthar is a rocky view point from where we can see the close view of Mt.Pumori, Mt. Everest. After observing the excellent beauty of mountains we will be back to Gorakshep and continue our trekking to Pheriche where we will stay our overnight.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 21: Trek from Pheriche 4,243m to Thyangboche approx. 5 hrs.


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day, we will continue our trekking to Thyangboche again. There are ups and downs between Pangboche and Thyangboche. There is a very beautiful jungle on our way. We will stay for the night in Thyangboche.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 22: Trek from Thyangboche to Namche Bazaar (2,835m. about 5 to 6 hrs)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day, our trekking heads to Namche Bazaar. We will never forget the beauty of the nature that we encounter on our trekking. This is situated near to the entrance of the Sagarmatha National Park. Our overnight will be in Namche Bazaar.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 23: Trek from Namche Bazaar (2,835m) to Lukla (5 hrs walk) of Arun valley yoga trek


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

After finishing our tour we will arrive to Lukla in 5 hours. This trekking is not that much hard but it is very easy trekking. At night we will take last dinner in Lukla with our fellow Sherpa, guides and porters. We will sleep calmly on the hotel on this day.

Day 24: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1338m)


We will do yoga before our breakfast in the morning.

On this day we will fly to Kathmandu from Lukla Airport. We can observe the beauty of the mountains from our window. Our overnight will be at the hotel in Kathmandu.

We will practice Pranayam and Meditation in the evening.

Day 25: Departure Day


This day is the day of departure from Nepal to your country. We will wish you a very happy journey and you will bring a lot of unforgettable memories from the Himalayan country, Nepal.
