Nepal has many beautiful lakes and rivers. Mostly Nepal is known for its mountains and Himalayas. However, mountains are not just only the jewels of Nepal they also have water resources and forests. Many of the lakes and rivers of the country originate from the Himalayas so a little bit of credit also goes to the Himalayas for the mesmerizing rivers and water resources that are present in the country.

The water resources of the country provide an amazing spot to chill and enjoy nature. Tilicho lake, Phewa lake, Phoksundo lake, Koshi river, Trishuli river are some of the most beautiful water resources of the nation. Some of them are in the spots that have large human settlements around them while some are located at the most isolated places which do not have human settlements around them. Despite not having human settlements around them and being located in remote areas people trek for days to reach there and enjoy its beauty and Tilicho lake trekking is a living example of that.

Nepal is a landlocked country that is located between the landmass of India and China. The country is exceedingly minor compared to the two big countries around it. Nepal may be small but the country has many things to share with the world. It is a combination of natural beauty, various cultures, and truly kind people. One of the most astonishing things about the country is its water resources. Nepal may be small but the water resources are in extremely high amount.

It is the country with one of the highest amounts of water resources in the world. The question is that for the country with so far from the sea and so middle in the land, how it has so many water resources. The answer to this question also lies in the Himalayas.

Himalaya is the range of the highest peaks in the world. The range extends from few countries and quite a significant share of the Himalayas lies in Nepal. In these regions, there are many glaciers and big ice chunks. Many of the water resources of the country originate in the Himalayas and come from glaciers. Also, the rain from the monsoon is a significant amount of source of water in the country.

These water sources in the country are incredibly beautiful and people enjoy them by doing various activities. Tilicho lake is one of the most beautiful water sources in the country and many people go to Tilicho lake trekking to enjoy its beauty. There are many other water sources as well as other mountain trekking routes that are also famous but Tilicho lake trekking has its importance and love from the trekkers. The astonishing terrain of the surrounding places and amazing view of the lake is what drives people to go to Tilicho lake trekking and enjoy the time.

Tilicho lake is one of the most famous lakes of Nepal located in the Manang district. The lake is located at an elevation of 4919m from sea level. Few debates are deciding the actual elevation of the lake. Some sources claim that the lake is at an elevation of 4949m from sea level. It is located at the famous Annapurna range of the Himalayas.

Tilicho is the destination of the Annapurna Circuit trek as well as Tilicho lake trekking. Annapurna range is famous for many beautiful peaks among which Annapurna is the most famous. The lake is incredibly famous for Tilicho lake trekking.

Tilicho lake trekking begins by arriving in Nepal. Every year many arrive from various countries to go for Tilicho lake trekking.

Tilicho is famous for few trekking routes and most for Tilicho lake trekking. However, the lake is not famous for the trekking routes, and Tilicho lake trekking lake has religious significance also. This is not known by many even the trekkers who have gone to Tilicho lake trekking many times. The religious importance of the lake is directly tied to the Hindu epic Ramayana.

There was a character name Kaag Bhusundi in Ramayana. He was not among the major characters of Ramayana that fought the war or involved in major characters. However, he is the one who had seen the incidence of Ramayana with his own eyes. Kaag Bhusundi was the devotee of Lord Vishnu and was granted immortality by the lord as a boon.

Kaag Bhusundi was crow by species whereas sage by nature and his works and devotion to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Tilicho is the lake where Kaag Bhusundi told the story of Ramayan to Garud (Garud is the Vahana of Lord Vishnu and sits on the back of Garud while traveling). The sage transformed into a crow when he told the events of Ramayan to Garud.
