Day 8 Return to Pokhara

Thousands of Hindus devotes gather here to celebrate the festivals. This mela is one of the biggest mela in Nepal. In the junction of Krishna Gandaki River, a rare black stone is found. Day 10 Devghat to Lumbini

Lumbini is located at about 165Km away from Devghat. About 4 to 6 hours ride in vehicle will take the travelers to Lumbini. On the 10th day of Pilgrimage tour in Nepal the visitors will go to the holiest Buddhist site in the world. If the travelers begin their journey after lunch. They will get to Lumbini in the late of the day or in the evening time.

The site is one of the UNESCO cultural heritage sites and covers a large area with much to see. Day 11 and Day 12

Lumbini temple area is a large site where there are many shrines and monasteries built as the devotion to Lord Buddha. Maya Devi from outside looks like a normal temple. However, when one visits inside one can see it is much more than that. The building is made to conserve the original house where Lord buddha was believed to have been born. Inside one can see the ruins of the buildings.

The maya Devi temple also consist of a sacred pool just outside the building of the temple. It also has Ashoka pillar and Holi bodhi tree in its premise.

The area has other Buddhist places outside its premises. If one want to visit all of them it takes two complete days. The visitors also can go to Kapilvastu where lord buddha was raised as the child. The ruins of the palace can be seen there and visited.

Day 13 and Day 14

On the 13th day of Pilgrimage tour in Nepal, the visitors will go to Janakpur from Lumbini. Janakpur is about 25 minutes of flight away from Lumbini with the distance of 343KM. Janakpur is the ancient kingdom of King Janak. Janak was the King of Janakpur and was the father of Goddess Sita. Sita was the adopted daughter of King Janak and was raised as his own in kingdom of ancient Janakpur.

Later goddess Sita was married to Lord Ram and was sent to Ayodhya. Being the birth place of the goddess and the place where the god and goddess married, the site still is considered as one of the holiest sites. Pilgrimage tour in Nepal is incomplete without visiting this site.

The area consists many sites but Janaki temple is the biggest attraction to the visitors. Janaki temple is one of the most beautiful temples of Nepal.
