Strategy For Lobuche West Peak Expedition

As easy and exciting as it may sound, there are technical issues that tend to arise in the Lobuche West Peak expedition. You will have an opportunity to witness some of the most beautiful mountains with ease.

The base camp is located in the Lobuche Village, which will start the overall experience of the climb. The ascent in this climb happens mainly at 2 am in the morning.

The climbers will spend quite some time at the top of the mountain. When the time is done, we will get back to the base camp. Staying the night, we will move towards Pherhiche, Namche, and finally to Lukla.

On the road, you will have the staple food of Dal, Bhaat, etc, while there will be a western breakfast and other varieties of options when talking about Kathmandu. All the food on the road will be organic and grown by the local villagers.

There will be 3 meals every day. Breakfast and dinner will be provided at the place of stay, while lunch will be on the trail. It doesn’t matter whether you are a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian; there will be plenty of options to choose from.

Following the food, the accommodation will be good on the road. Most of the time, the trekkers will have to live in teahouses like all other trekkers. As we gain altitude, achieving the best quality hotels is a tough task. To overcome this issue, trekkers will have to adjust.

The provision of shared rooms is a must at remote locations. Likewise, all these rooms will have the most basic facilities with hot showers available. The bed sheets will be clean with proper toilets and bathrooms.

Detailed Itinerary For Lobuche West Peak Expedition

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and shift to the hotel

On the very first day of the trek, you will arrive in the capital. A member from The Trek Nepal will be present to assist you to the hotel.

You will be provided with a briefing about the whole journey. Trekkers have an opportunity to either roam the city or rest in their respective hotel rooms.

Day 2: City tour and trek preparation

On the 2nd day of the trek, we will be heading out for the city tour. A dedicated member from The Trek Nepal will be present at the location. He will take you around the city, tasting food, visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites, etc.

On the other hand, The Trek Nepal will be preparing all the required documents, permits for the trekkers. We will return to the hotel in the evening and get ready for the trek.

Day 3: Drive to Ramechhap, fly to Lukla, and hike to Phakding

On the 3rd morning, after a fulfilling breakfast, our journey in the Lobuche West Peak expedition actually begins. We start the day with the drive to Ramechhap. It will be a 4-hour drive to Ramechhap.

Upon reaching Ramechhap, we will take the spectacular flight to Lukla. A short but beautiful flight will mark the start of the journey. Upon landing in Lukla, we will trek to Phakding. It will be an easy trek, and we will spend the night in Phakding.

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Following the proper night’s rest, we will head to Namche Bazaar today. Crossing the long suspension bridge and the rhododendron forest, we will reach past the river.

We will reach Monjo next, get the permits sorted, and enter the Sagarmatha National Park region. Walking slowly and steadily, we will reach Namche Bazaar at the end of the day.

Day 5: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

At The Trek Nepal, acclimatization is the key, and we do the same. Lobuche West peak expedition today means we will stay back at Namche Bazaar. We will visit the nearby villages, interact with local communities etc.

You will be able to view mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, etc. Trekkers will also visit the local photo gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum.

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery

A full day of rest means the body is recharged for the move. The first stop for the day is Kyangjuma, and we will descend to Phungi Thanga. We will cross the suspension bridge and reach to Tengboche village.

A very special place in the Tengboche village is the Tengboche monastery. There will be some excellent views from the monastery. All the trekkers will be spending the night at the village.

Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

After the healthy morning breakfast, the journey moves ahead in the Lobuche West Peak expedition. Firstly, we will descend from Tengboche to Deboche.

Slowly, the trail moves ahead to Imja Khola now. Past the bridge, climbing uphill, we will reach the Dingboche village. There are some beautiful mountain views along with the welcoming people here.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

A healthy breakfast will be key for the long day of trek. First, we will go through the glacier field and descend below. There will be a sharp turn to Dusa, which adds to the thrill of the Lobuche West Peak expedition.

Slow and steady, we will ascend from there to Dughlaa and later trek to the Khumbu glacier. Lastly, after 6 hours of trek, we reached Lobuche.

Day 9: Hike to Kalapatthar and trek down to Lobuche

The early mornings show signs that it will be a beautiful day. Firstly, we will hike to Gorakshep and Kala Patthar to get the best views. Mountain views from Kalaptthar will be mesmerizing and enjoyable.

After spending some time there, we will get back to Lobuche village and spend the night. It will be a beautiful day without much physical stress to the body.

Day 10: Climb from Lobuche Village to Lobuche East Base Camp

The beautiful village will be left behind as we climb to the Lobuche peak base camp. Things get interesting Lobuche West Peak expedition. The trail slowly ascends through glaciers and rocky trails.

There will be camps set up by the experienced The Trek Nepal team. It will be a short trekking day today, so you will have enough time for proper rest and recovery.

Day 11: Climb from Base Camp to Lobuche East Peak High Camp

A healthy breakfast early in the morning suggests there is a big day ahead. For today, we will climb to Lobuche Peak High Camp. Always follow the footsteps of the guide, and we slowly get to the high camp.

There will be fixed routes to follow for safety. You will spend the whole day after 4 hours of trek resting and recovering for what comes ahead.

Day 12: Climb from the high camp to Lobuche West summit and return to the high camp

Well, the day finally arrives when we hit the Lobuche West peak expedition. It will be a day of tough might. The high camp will be left behind at 2 Am as we start the journey ahead.

Always follow your guide and the fixed ropes. Crossing minor creases and other technical sections will be easier. The toughest part is the ending of the overall climb, which is demanding.

You will be crossing a 45-degree slope, which leads to the west summit. As we conquer the Lobuche West peak expedition, we will spend some time there and return to enjoy the best views.

Day 13: Descend to Pheriche

Sad to say, but the Lobuche West Peak expedition will come to a rapid close now. Following the climb, we will be heading down to Pheriche the next day.

Right from the high camp, it will take you around 8 hours to complete the trek. Crossing Lobuche village and taking the different route, we will reach Pheriche by the end of the day.

Day 14: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche

The early morning breakfast suggests we have a long way to go today. We will be heading down to Tengboche from Pheriche. Enjoy some stunning mountain views for the day.

It will be a 6-hour trek, whereby we will reach the destination. Passing through small villages, lush forests, and beautiful weather, we will be at the teahouse in Tengboche by the end of the day.

Day 15: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo via Namche Bazaar

The beautiful village of Tengboche will be left behind now. You will have to be ready for 8 hours of non-stop trekking for the day. First, we will be descending to Phungi Thanga and moving the journey ahead.

The trail slowly ascends to Namche Bazaar. No, Namche isn’t our destination, but following a steep downhill, we will reach Monjo.

Day 16: Trek from Monjo to Lukla

The trail remains the same that we took while going for the Lobuche West peak expedition. The same villages and welcoming people will be waiting for you, which is the key. Following the beauty of the Dudh Koshi River, we move ahead.

It will be an exciting day with rhododendron forest, suspension bridges, mountain views, and a calming trekking day will be waiting for you. We will reach Phakding and later push for Lukla now.

Day 17: Morning flight to Ramechhap and drive to Kathmandu

We will be leaving every trace of the Lobuche West Peak expedition today. The early morning flight to Ramechhap with some stunning views will be the highlight.

Landing in Ramechhap, we will hop on a bus and head to the capital. It will be a 4-hour drive as we reach Kathmandu by the end of the day.

Day 18: Rest day in Kathmandu

After 17 days of toughness and hard work, we will get a day of rest. Yes, it will be a leisure day, where you can enjoy your time.

Some of the trekkers love to spend their time buying souvenirs for their loved ones, others try the local cuisine, and some rest in their hotel rooms.

Day 19: Departure for the home nation

Sadly, the day has arrived when we will be leaving for our home country. It won’t be a mistake to say that the  Lobuche West Peak expedition has officially come to an end.
