Detailed Itinerary About Rolwaling Valley & Tesi Lapcha Pass Trekking

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

The first day of the trek is all about arriving in Kathmandu. A member from The Trek Nepal will be present to receive you at the airport.

You will be headed directly to your hotel. From there on you will be briefed about the tour and also get proper time to rest or also tour the city.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Charikot

On the 2nd day after the early morning breakfast, we will be driving to Charikot. Trekkers will view the beautiful vistas of the Koshi River.  A 7-hour drive will take you to Charikot.

After landing in Charikot, we will visit the famous Dolakha Bhimsen temple. The trekkers will rest at Charikot for the night and prepare for the days ahead.

Day 3: Trek from Charikot to Pikhuti

Finally, the day arrives in Rolwaling Valley & Tesi Lapcha Pass Trekking, whereby we will start the actual trek. The destination today is Pikhuti, so we start up early.

Day 4: Trek from Pikhuti to Suri Dobhan

Day 7: Trek from Simi Gaun to Kyalche

Even though Simigaun is beautiful and calming, we have to take our journey towards Kyalche today. The day starts by walking the banks of the Rolwaling River.

Don’t be surprised as you witness the beautiful Gaurishankar Himal on a very clear morning. Furthermore, the road will be guided by a rhododendron forest, which offers beauty. Passing through Surmuche and the rocky trails, we reach Kyalche by the end of the day.

Day 8: Trek from Kyalche to Beding

The journey starts after a healthy breakfast early in the morning. We will be walking alongside the rocky roads of the Rolwaling River. Slowly, as we move ahead, Gaurishankar Himal becomes much bigger in shape.

Even though the mountain is on the horizon, the beauty is doubled with ease. After 7 hours of trek and covering 16 km, we will reach Beding. Beding is a small Sherpa village. You will get to know and understand the Sherpa lifestyle during the stay.

Day 9: Trek from Beding to Na Gaon

The journey of the Tesi Lapcha pass trek just gets more interesting here. After we walk around the river from Beding, the destination will be Na Gaon. Right around the journey, you will get the beautiful views of glacial lakes, crisp mountains, and still water.

This particular place is located right below the Tsho Rolpa glacier, which even makes the overall environment wonderful. After 6 hours of trek and hitting 4185m, we will reach Na Gaon. The views of Chobutse, Chugimago, and Yalung Ri will take away all the tiredness.

Day 10: Acclimatization and exploration

A short hike today will mean that we will have a picturesque setting for settlement. The tent will be set up closer to Tsho Rolpa and the Trakarding glacier. The tented camp experience would be worth the wait.

Day 12: Trek from Tsho Rolpa to Drolumbau Glacier

A massive rocky glacier of Trakarding will be waiting for us after breakfast. If you are lucky, you get to see the turquoise ice. This day will be all about reaching the Drolumbau glacier and making it wonderful.

160m into the climb to the ice peak, we will be reaching the likes of Drolumbau glacier. Innumerable streams run from the glacier. The overnight camp will be an experience of a lifetime.

Day 13: Trek from Drolumbau glacier to Tesi Lapcha Pass

Today is the day when we will be touching the highest point of the trek. It is the Tesi Lapcha pass, whereby you will be able to see the stunning views of Tengi Ragi Tau. Not only one, but there are plenty of peaks that can be viewed.

Bigphero Go Shar, Dragkar Go are some key views in the process. Passing through the moraines, gentle slopes, and glacial areas, we will be heading back to the base camp. Yes, it will be a tented camp stay.

Day 14: Trek from Base Camp to Thame

A lovely walk, less of a trek and more of a hike awaits. The carb-filled breakfast will push the journey from base camp to Thame. Yes, we are leaving behind the beauty of the Tesi Lapcha pass trek slowly. Starting the walk, we will reach a monastery at the start.

Moving forward, there is also an opportunity to enter the small Sherpa village called Thame. This opportunity breaks in the chance to visit the beauty of Nangpa La as well. This place, Thame, is also the border of Nepal and Tibet.

Day 15: Trek from Thame to Namche Bazaar

After spending the night at the beautiful Thame village, the journey moves ahead. There is a major chance we could share the trek with the EBC trekkers today. First, it will be a visit to Khumjung village lying at the foothills of Khumbila mountain.

Likewise, we will stop at the village for lunch. There is plenty to explore, but we have to move towards Namche Bazaar today. A trek of 5 hours on easier roads will reach us at Namche Bazar.

Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

A journey filled with experience and struggle, the Tesi Lapcha Pass trek is slowly coming to an end. Staying the night at Namche Bazaar, we will have to push towards Lukla today. Compared to the 5000m, today will be less than 3000m of trail.

Lunch with the team will be done at Phakding, and we will move ahead. With some views of Everest, we leave the Khumbu region and move ahead to Benkar, Phakding, and later to Lukla. A tiring experience comes to a stop at Lukla.

Day 17: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
