Detailed Itinerary of Helambu Jugal Himal Trek
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
The first day of the Jugal Himal trek is around the time of arrival in Kathmandu. A member from The Trek Nepal will be present at the airport to receive the guests.
All the guests will be placed at your respective hotels. You will also have an opportunity to either roam the city with a guide from The Trek Nepal or sit back in your rooms. Meanwhile, there will be a welcome dinner on the first night.
Day 2: Beautiful drive to Chautara from Kathmandu
After a healthy breakfast early in the morning, we will be driving to Chautara with the drive. It will be one of the beautiful drives with scenic landscapes, greenery, hills, and open fields too.
Leaving the bustling city behind, we will be reaching Chautara by the end of the day. A rural lifestyle, along with staying in the local tea houses, will be calling for the trekkers.
Day 3: Trek from Chautara to Sermanthang
The official trek in the Jugal Himal trek will actually start on the 3rd day. Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will head towards Sermanthang now.
Lush green forest, charming villages along terraced fields will guide you right through the journey. The higher we go, will bring beautiful the views will be right along the way.
Day 4: Trek from Sermanthang to Laribinayak
The destination for the day is Laribinayak. Being at an altitude of 3250m, we will push through easily. As the altitude keeps increasing, there are uneven trails that await you.
After 7 hours of the trek, we will be reaching Laribinayak. You will be able to rest at your local tea houses. The local authentic food will be provided by the teahouse. Interested individuals can roam around the village and interact with the locals.
Day 5: Trek from Laribinayak to Jugal Himal Base Camp
It will be on the 5th day that we will reach the crux of the Jugal Himal trek. Being the D day, we will be reaching Jugal Himal Base Camp by the end of the day. Trekkers will be touching down on 4700m, which isn’t easy at all.
The route to the Jugal Himal Base Camp trek is rocky, along with uneven trails. All the trekkers need to be careful about trekking with the guide’s assistance. We will spend the night in the foothills of Jugal Himal.
Day 6: Jugal Himal Exploration and descent
As we spend the night at Jugal Himal base camp, we will have a whole day to explore the local communities. On the 6th day of the trek, we will be visiting the local villages and interacting with them.
Not only that we will also understand the local culture and tradition that exists in the place. Following that we will descend back to Laribinayak and spend the night there.
Day 7: Trek from Laribinayak to Chautara
All the trekkers will be leaving behind the Jugal Himal trek pretty quickly. Following a healthy breakfast early in the morning, we will trek to Chautara. Starting from Laribinayak, the journey will take us to Chautara.
It will be a 7-hour trek that will push through some of the beautiful forest, rhododendron fields, and much more. By evening, we will reach Chautara and stay the night.
Day 8: Drive from Chautara to Kathmandu
The early morning breakfast is a sign that we will have a drive to Kathmandu. It will be an 8-hour ride from Chautara to Kathmandu. The road is smooth, rugged, and everything in between.
Having said that, the drive will be a smooth one. By midday or late afternoon, we will be in Kathmandu. Interested individuals can roam the city, buy souvenirs etc.
Day 9: Departure for the home nation
Finally, the day has arrived when the Jugal Himal trek comes to an end. The farewell breakfast early in the morning means that we will move ahead with the departure.
